Impact Assessment and Population Perception: A Comprehensive Look at the Georeferenced Community Rural Patrol Program at the 8th CIPM in Paraná

The present study aimed to evaluate the impact and perception of the population in relation to the Community Rural Patrol Program (PPRC) of the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR), implemented in the area of jurisdiction of the 8th Independent Company of the Military Police (CIPM). The growing incidence of theft and robbery against rural properties highlighted the urgency in implementing public policies aimed at security in the countryside. Based on this demand, in 2021 the Community Rural Patrol Program (PPRC) was restructured. This study used a questionnaire aimed at the rural population registered by the 8th CIPM work teams, covering both those who acquired the PPRC monitoring card and those who have not yet done so. The data collected allowed a detailed and differentiated analysis of the community's perceptions regarding the restructured program implemented in this region. The results indicated that the program brought benefits to the rural community, as evidenced by the answers to the research questions. Statistical analysis revealed that the new version of the program brought benefits to the rural community and resulted in a positive overall evaluation. This aspect demonstrates the perceived effectiveness of the program in the 8th CIPM region.
