This critical review analyzes the seventh edition of the book Intelligence Analysis – A Target-Centric Approach, by Robert M. Clark, recently translated and adapted for the Lusophone audience. The work proposes an analytical model that breaks with the traditional intelligence cycle by adopting a systemic and collaborative approach, focused on the target as the structuring element of the analysis. Based on case studies, the author discusses historical failures of intelligence activity and proposes conceptual and methodological tools to overcome them, such as critical thinking, systems modeling, and anticipatory analysis. The review contextualizes the work within the field of public security, highlighting its contributions to the development of more effective, prescriptive, and decision-oriented analyses. Finally, it presents a critical assessment, emphasizing the relevance and the limitations of the proposal in the Brazilian context.
