Using Poscher's concepts of vagueness and ambiguity, this research studied Article 27 of Law No. 13.869, of September 5, 2019, known as the Law of Abuse of Authority, to identify the implications of the device in the work of the Criminal Police. It is a qualitative research, of a theoretical character and that makes use of doctrine and jurisprudence to conduct the hermeneutics of the rule without neglecting the interpretation of the legislator. the conclusion that by having ambiguous and vague expressions the Law compromises the legal security of the Criminal Police activity.
